IE University will receive funding from the European Commission for the implementation of an intervention project in the field of Public Safety. Miguel Gandarillas, Professor for the School of Psychology, will coordinate the project along with other contributing entities.

Project Title: Security in Diversity: Research, Design and Training in Public Safety Preventive Methodology in highly diverse social and cultural contexts.

Call: Subsidies for Actions of the General Management Office for Justice, Liberty and Security of the European Commission in matters of Prevention and Fight against Crime (2007 Call).

Duration of project: 3 years.

Sum granted: 430,153.64 Euros

·         West of England University

·         European Forum of Urban Security (France)

·         Forensic Medical Clinic of the Justice Department of the  Community of Madrid

·         Social Services for the Central District of Madrid

·         Observatory for Madrid’s Safety (unit dependent on Madrid’s Municipal Police Corps)

·         Basic Psychology Department, Complutense University of Madrid (UCM)
