The article “Figuring What’s Fair: The Cost of Equity for Renewable Energy in Emerging Markets” written by Professor Laura Nuñez y DBA Candidate Charles Donovan has been accepted for International Research Conference “Understanding Strategic Choices for Renewable Energy Investment – Latest Evidence from Research and Implications for Theory and Practice” organized by the University of St. Gallen, in Switzerland, for the next February 11-12, 2010.


Jean-Noël Dollet della Monta becomes the first DBA graduate after successfully defending his thesis entitled “Multi-level  Network Management as a main Business Driver of Luxury Companies” on December 16 in IE Business School.

Jean-Noël is being tutored by professor Angel Díaz.

PhD student Yiyi Jiang successfuly defended her Thesis Proposal “Efficient Market Hypothesis? Or Adaptative Market Hypothesis? A Test with Combination of Technical and Fundamental Analysis” on June 4.

PhD student María Kakarica, sucessfully defended her Thesis Proposal “Differences as a Mater of Feelings: Surface-and Deep-Level Dissimilarity, Affect and their Impact on Behavior” on February 18th.

Carmelo Cennamo, successfully defended his Dissertation Proposal “Competitive Dynamics in Platform-Mediated Markets“ on January 29th.


Mr. Burak Koyuncu (PhD Candidate at IE, 2006) has been accepted as a Visiting Doctoral Student at Wharton, starting January 2009 and ending May 2009. During his stay, the PhD Candidate will pursue his Dissertation Research.


IE Business School PhD student Björn Claes, has joined the POMS Chronicle editorial team.  POMS (Production and Operations Management Society) is one of the most important companies within the Operations Area.

IE Business School held its first Doctoral Symposium in Entrepreneurship on November 7th, 2008 on the campus of IE Business School, aimed at promising doctoral students in the Entrepreneurship field . Students attended from Imperial, IESE, Bentley, IE Business School, Universidad Carlos III, Cambridge, and other universities.
